Who the heck is Delisha???

I'm sure you consider me very cocky calling myself 'Delisha'. If you think I'm cocky - you're right! Spot on! I was born in the Chinese Year of the Rooster, hence my 'cocky' flavour. Forgive me. I call it 'poetic licence'. Let me tell you how I stumbled upon the name that fully captures my alter-ego and makes me feel like a true, delicious 'yummy mummy'.

It was all back in the pre-baby days when I worked for the Guinness Corporation in Dublin. I wore tight skirts and stilettos and had not a care in the world, other than fun, shopping, travel and food. Men would flirt with me and I'd give as good as I got, content in the knowledge that flirting, after all, was simply 'attention without intention' and made a long day seem shorter. There was one fellow in particular that I worked with. He had a black belt in flirting. He was always 'educating' me. He told me how Nuns got their name. It was because they got 'None' Monday to Sunday... His name was Kevin (not the Kevin I married) but another one. I'm partial to Kevins as you can see. The name means 'lovable' and most Kevins I know are that, which is why 'Kevin' rhyms with 'Heaven'.

To cut a long story short the Kevin with the black belt in flirting loved a particular song. It was called 'Patricia the Stripper' and sung by the renowned Chris de Burgh - royalty  if ever. Chris is the father of Ireland's only Ms. World - the ravishing Rosanna Davison. He also had another beautiful song 'Lady in Red'. Just because I happened to have a chili pepper-red coat at the time, and the fact my name was Patricia - Kevin the King Kong of Flirting, serenaded me every morning when I went into work. I became known to the 'Naughty Boys' as Delisha. Trust me blog buddies - the only thing I have ever stripped is wallpaper! The words of 'Patricia the Stripper' went something like this -

"I'm going out to dinner, with a gorgeous singer, to a little place I've found down by the quay;
Her name is Patricia, she calls herself 'Delicia', And the reason isn't very hard to see...
She says God made her a sinner just to keep fat men thinner as they tumble down in heaps
before her feet..." And it goes on  "with a swing of her hips she started to strip...to tremendous
applause she takes off her drawers..."

Yes, my dear friends that is how the name 'Delisha' became attached to me. It reminds me of happy, carefree days and every time I call myself 'Delisha' it brings a smile to my heart and warms my worries away...

Be good to yourselves...

Cheery Bye,

Delisha xxx
